The victim, a 33-year-old, was recovered by divers with the Grapevine Fire Department after they launched a search for him that evening.
Fire crews were called about 5:20 p.m. to Rockledge Park to search for the missing man. His name has not been released.
Flower Mound firefighters and game wardens with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department assisted with the search, Grapevine fire officials said in a Facebook post.
“It only takes seconds for someone to disappear below the water,” the Grapevine department wrote on Facebook, urging the public to learn to swim and wear a life jacket.
The city of Grapevine announced earlier this week that all of its lake parks and boat ramps were closed through Memorial Day until further notice, as water levels were 16 feet higher than normal and were expected to rise.
