Nope this isn’t Florida.
But South Texas still has plenty of alligators and one was caught in Aransas Pass early Wednesday.
Just before 6 a.m. Wednesday, a customer walking in the Walmart parking lot spotted an 8-foot. alligator on its way back to a nearby pond, Aransas Police police Capt. Lynn Pearce said.
When officers arrived, they located the gator. Officials with Texas Parks and Wildlife were also called to help.
Pearce said parks and wildlife game wardens took the alligator to a spot where it would not threaten anyone.
“We have a few alligators, but we have not seen one this big,” Pearce said.
Pearce said residents should call authorities if they spot an alligator that could be threatening at 361-758-5224.
