It’s another great day to be a dog in Austin, Texas. Especially if you’re a dog who likes to eat out.
Personal finance site WalletHub recently ranked the 100 largest cities in America in terms of pet friendliness, and you might not be surprised to hear Austin fared pretty well.
The city was ranked as the country’s fourth most pet-friendly, but ranked No. 1 when it came to the number of pet-friendly restaurants per capita.
In compiling the list, WalletHub considered factors like pet budget, health and wellness, and outdoor friendliness. The site looked at factors including the number of dog-friendly trails a city boasts, the strength of its animal protection laws and the average cost of veterinary care.

While Austin was ranked as the second-best city to live when it comes to the pet health and wellness category, it fared less well when it came to the pet budget category. Austin ranked as the 17th most expensive city to have a dog. It seems the high cost of living applies to nonhumans, too…
