The Foundation and brewery team up to increase awareness and host event on Aug. 18
The Battleship Texas Foundation and Friends and Allies Brewing Company have joined forces to raise awareness about the nation’s last surviving dreadnought, Battleship Texas. The partners will host a free community event at the brewery in efforts to secure petition signatures and save the historic ship. Friends and Allies will be offering a $3 pint for attendees that sign the petition.
On the scene will be a large ice sculpture of the Battleship Texas, a battleship-sized petition, and life-sized battleship game. The event will be touring throughout the Lone Star State; it started in Houston and is now traveling to Austin, San Antonio and Dallas. Guests are encouraged to share experiences on social media using the hashtag #COMEANDSAVEIT while tagging the campaign-dedicated Instagram and Twitter accounts, @ComeAndSaveIt.
