What is the most exciting city in Texas? That’s still up for debate. But the most exciting metro area has been settled, without surprise, by Business Insider.
Truth is, when you consider Dallas, Fort Worth and Arlington as just one metro area, that’s kinda like shooting fish in a barrel. It’s hard for Austin to compete with that.
But, in their recent study, Business Insider also named “the most boring” city in every state.
Sorry, Victoria. Having alligators in the pond at Riverside Park is not the sort of excitement Business Insider means.
The study, which didn’t provide any data, says it “took counts of the number of establishments for 66 different types of businesses — like breweries, art dealers, and museums — that can make a city more ‘interesting.’”
They admitted this approach more or less resulted in listing the largest metro areas in each state.
However, two states didn’t make the list — Rhode Island and Vermont don’t have at least two federally-defined metro areas.
Maybe next time, if they’re going to bother to count all “762 art dealers” in the NYC metro area, they’ll make the effort to compare the exciting and boring cities to each other and give us a ranking.
