PHOENIX — Do you often find yourself in northern Arizona to celebrate the holidays? If so, you might want to stop by Prescott, which was recently named among the best small towns in the U.S. for Christmas.
According to Country Living, Prescott was named as the 21st-best small town in the nation to celebrate Christmas.
The publication included Prescott on its list of 23 best small towns for the holiday because of its “Western twang.”
“Activities center around the historic Courthouse Plaza, ablaze with more than a million lights for the season and site of the town’s Christmas tree,” the website said.
On the day of the tree-lighting, the Sharlott Hall Museum also hosts a Christmas open house, where “locals enjoy hot cider and cookies white listening to stories about pioneer holidays.”
Prescott is in good company: Among the other towns that were named on the list were Santa Claus, Indiana; Williamsburg, Virginia and Asheville, North Carolina.
