Two Houston men have been convicted of robbing a northwest Houston massage parlor after investigators linked their semen to the crime, authorities said.
Javian Chapman, 20, and Joseph Berzat, 21, both plead guilty this month to charges connected to the Aug. 5, 2016 robbery of the Hana Spa at 14015 Bammel North Houston.
“During the robbery, the suspects had physically assaulted some of the employees,” U.S. Attorney for the Southern District Ryan Patrick said in a press release. “Authorities later processed the scene for forensic evidence and uncovered DNA from seminal fluid found at the scene which positively identified Berzat and Chapman.”
Both men plead guilty to two counts of aiding and abetting interference with commerce by robbery and one firearm-related charge, according to Patrick’s office.
Their sentencing hearing is set for July 6. Both men face up to 20 years for the robbery charge, as well as another mandatory 10 years for the firearms charges.
