JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Authorities in Florida say they have arrested a woman caught on camera stealing a donation jar dedicated to the family of a 7-year-old girl who was killed in a shootout this month.
The theft occurred at the Jacksonville restaurant where Heidy Villanueva’s mother worked and where the child was killed by a stray bullet Aug. 11, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. The jar contained about $600.
Deputies said the woman was arrested Saturday afternoon. Her named was not immediately released.
Can we say in custody? That’s right. She is going to jail.
This just happened. More information will be released once she is booked into jail. https://t.co/U4U9MxXNHH

According to the Associated Press, the video shows the woman looking around several times, grabbing the donation jar and stuffing it inside a shopping bag before rushing out the door. The donations were intended to help with funeral expenses for the little girl.
Donations can still be made to the family’s GoFundMe account, which The Florida Times-Union said has garnered nearly $16,000.
All proceeds will go toward sending Heidy back to her home country of Honduras for burial.
Three people have been arrested on murder and other charges stemming from the killing, the AP reported.
